Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the data high in reliability, by extending the test piece through pressing it with two parallel flat plates and processing the signal according to the light transmitted through the test piece or reflected on the test piece.
CONSTITUTION: After clipping the test piece 9 between the transparent plates 11 and 12 and setting it between the fixed frame 13 and the moving frame 14, the load p is operated on the moving frame 14 with the light source 4 illuminated to extend the test piece between the transparent plates 11 and 12. The light from the light source 4 is incident on the test piece holder 6 and the light transmitted through the test piece holder 6 is collected on the photo cell 8 with the capacitor 7. The electromotive force caused with the photo cell 8 is inputted to the data processor 18 to calculate the viscosity of the test piece. The result of calculation is recorded on the printer 21 and the pen recorder 22.
