Abstract

PURPOSE: To realize an accurate reading by providing several intake vents to the paper mounting board for connection to the intake unit, detecting the reflected light from the paper and then reading out the recorded optical information in agreement of the shift of the carrier.
CONSTITUTION: Paper mounting board 20 is supported on frame box 10, and carrier 30 is attached so that it can go and come back in parallel to the paper mounting surface and at the upper part of board 20. Intake vents 24a, 24b and 24c are provided to board 20 and in correspondence to the edge part of the paper to be then connected to the intake unit. While for carrier 30, light source 38 is provided to illuminate the paper adsorbed onto the upper surface of board 20 via the intake unit, along with sensor 37 which detects the reflected light of the light source from the paper. Then the optical information recorded on the paper is read out in sequence in agreement with the movement of carrier 30, thus ensuring an accurate reading.
