Abstract
PURPOSE: To move a tool into or out of a pipe, by causing a grooved wheel fitted on a slide movably provided on a grooved disc to idly rotate along the vortical lead of a scroll disc by the action of the differential unit and moving the slide in the axial direction of the grooved wheel.
CONSTITUTION: A handling wheel 30 is rotated in the direction of an arrow j to rotate a worm wheel 33 engaged with a worm 32 in a direction of another direction k to revolve a differential box 20 in the direction of still another arrow h through a screw rod 18 and a worm gear 19. A gear 14 is moved forth relatively to another gear 11 in the direction of the arrow h by a quantity proportional to the number of the revolutions to make a positive phase difference between a scroll plate 16 and a grooved disc 9 in the rotating direction of the plate. A grooved wheel 47 having grooves similar to vortical screw threads 48 of the scroll disc 16 is rotated along the vortical lead of the scroll disc by the generation of the phase difference. A tool slide 35 is moved in the direction of another arrow l along the sliding groove of the gooved disc 9 to cut off a pipe 50 by a tool secured on the tool rest 35.
