Abstract

A screw-and-nut device comprises a tubular member (2), the inner surface of which is provided with helical grooves (7), and a rod (8), which is movable relative to the tubular member and is provided with rotatably mounted wheels (14, 19) having helical profiles which engage with the helical grooves (7) of the member (2). The rod (8) is moved axially in relation to the tubular member (2) when the rod and the member are rotated relative to each other. Means (17, 18) is provided in order to synchronize the rotation of the wheels (14, 19) relative to each other, and comprises either a central freely rotatable gear wheel (18) meshing with pinions 20 on the wheels, or a flexible web (17), which is provided on its outer surface with the helical profile, said web running about wheels (14) and being caused by these wheels to engage with the helical grooves (7).
