Abstract

PURPOSE: To operate gas-liquid separation efficiently by means of a simple structure, by dividing a space of cylindrical shape into upper and lower chambers by means of a net-form partition and operating gas-liquid separation by utilizing the passage resistance difference in the lower chamber.
CONSTITUTION: A mixed fuel consisting of a gas and a liquid ejected from a fuel pump (not shown) flows into space d from inlet 14 of gas-liquid separator 400. Since inlet 14 is placed in contact with the inner surface of space d, the fuel flows along the inner surface. Consequently, the fuel inside space d forms a stream flowing along the inner surface of space d and the gas fuel in the liquid fuel floats upward due to the difference of gravity. This gas fuel passes through net-form partition 13 and is returned to the fuel tank from outlet 16. On the other hand, the liquid fuel falls by gravity and is supplied to the engine from outlet 15.
