Abstract

PURPOSE: To raise the tension strength and to prevent irregular displacement in the vulcanizing process of a bead wire by helically winding a strand of hard steel wires formed in circular cross section several turns around a presse formed core wire.
CONSTITUTION: Rings 2 and 2' are formed by winding a hard steel wire 1 several turn in parallel to each other, then pressing into a circular section so that the density of the hard steel in the cross section is increased, therefore, the tensile strength per unit area is improved. A strand 7 formed by pressing several parallel hard steel wires into a circular cross section is helically wound several turns around the ring 2', thus providing a bead wire of high tensile strength and capable of resisting to irregular displacement in the vulcanizing process.
