Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain stable sealing effects always under any using condition by constructing a seal-lip, at a non-fixed side of a seal-plate cooperating with a seal- groove on an inner race, from three lips.
CONSTITUTION: In a sealing device for a ball-and-roller bearing, a space between an outer race 1 and an inner race 2 is sealed up tightly by a seal-plate 4 fixed to the outer race 1. The seal-plate 4 is provided with an inside lip 43, extending axially toward an inner peripheral surface of the inner race 2, an outside lip 44, extending radially, and an intermediate lip 45, formed between those lips and branched into two directions at the tip thereof. A recessed type groove 21, having an inner shoulder 23 and an outer shoulder 27 having a smaller diameter than that of the inner shoulder 23, is provided on an end portion of the inner race at an outer peripheral surface thereof. Thereby, an inside sealing portion between the inside lip 43 and the inside shoulder 23, an outside sealing portion between the outside lip 44 and the outside shoulder 27 and an intermediate sealing portion between one side of the intermediate lip 45 and a side-wall of the seal-groove 21, are formed respectively.
