Abstract

PURPOSE: To remove microorganisms grown on cooling water pipe, etc. in power plant without causing pollution by injecting high concentrations of ozone into water periodically.
CONSTITUTION: High concentrations of ozone is generated by the ozonizer 12 and injected into water through the ejector 14 from the water supply pipe over a comparatively long period. The injection condition of ozone is varied with the kinds of microorganisms, the temperature of service water, and the amount of organic suspended substances; that is, the injection time is in general once every half to 3 days for 3W10 minutes and the concentration of ozone used is in general in the range from several ppm to tens ppm.
