Abstract

PURPOSE: To make opening and closing of dies and pressure contacting work more efficient and achieve the reduction in size of the device by providing the specific die clamping mechanisms which engage with each other to each of an upper die mounting frame and a lower die mounting frame.
CONSTITUTION: A lower die and an upper die are mounted to each of mounting frames 7, 10 and an elevating mechanism 16 is driven to push up the lower die until it contacts the upper die. At this time the detaining end 21' of a detaining rod 21 fits into the elliptical insertion hole 40 of a detaining cylinder 10. When a piston 28 is pushed down by applying fluid pressure from an upper port 41, the detaining member 34 connecting to the piston rod 29 is pulled into a housing 31 while rotating 90° by the action of the pin 36 inserted into a sliding groove 35. As a result, the detaining end 21' is pulled into a cylindrical hole 38 while being held engaged, thus both dies are clamped to the specified pressure.
