Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a burner excellent in the infrared ray radiation ratio, heat- insulating property, heat-resisting property and corrosion resistance, by coating a calcium silicate plate with metal oxides of high infrared ray radiation ratio, an inorganic binder and an activated metal oxide and baking these coated substances.
CONSTITUTION: A mixture comprising manganese oxide, chromium oxide, an aqueous solution of lithium silicate, powder of activated zinc oxide and water is stirred well by a stirrer, thereby making a slurry. The slurry is uniformly coated on a honeycomb plate of calcium silicate by a sprayer and baked so that a film is produced on the plate. The infrared ray radiation ratio of the film is raised by the combination of the infrared ray radiation metal oxides. The bonding property of the film is improved by the inorganic binder. The corrosing resistance of the film is increased by the activated oxide.
