Abstract

PURPOSE: To make constant the speed of the rolled material and to make the rolling work possible to be stably executed, by detecting that the neutral point at which the main roll's peripheral speed coincides with the speed of the rolled material, goes out of the contact arc, by changing the tension value of the coiling reel according to above detecting signal, and by controlling so as to bring the neutral point into inside of the contact arc.
CONSTITUTION: The rolled material 1, being supplied from the uncoiling reel 6 driven by the motor 12, is cold rolled by the work roll 2 and the backup roll 3, and is coiled into the coiling reel 7 driven by the motor 13 through the roll 9. The neutral point 4, at which the peripheral speed of the work roll 2 conincides with the speed of the rolled material 1, is detected in respect of whether being outside or inside of the contact arc corresponding to the contact angle 5 between the work roll 2 and the rolled material 1. According to actuation of this detecting circuit, the tension controller 16 is actuated to correct the tension of the reel 7. By actuating the limiter circuit included in this tension correction circuit, the speed controller 17 is actuated, the speed of the work roll 2 is corrected, and the neutral point 4 is always kept inside of the contact arc.
