Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the impulsive tension generated while coiling work, by reducing the lealing speed through forecasting the time for eliminating the sag of strip, depending on the looseness of strip and the coiling speed between the finishing mill and the pinch roll.
CONSTITUTION: The pulse proportional to revolutional frequency of the work roll 91 is inputted from the pulse oscillator 92 into the computer-controller 93. The computer-controller 93 operates the length of rolled strip 6 from this pulse and the outer diameter of the work roll 91. The existence of the strip 6 is detected by the strip detectors 21, 22, and their signals are sent to the controller 93 which operats the length of strip 6 which is being rolled between two detectors 21, 22. From these values, the sag of strip 6 between the rolling mill 1 and the pinch roll 4 is forecast by computing the time for eliminating this sag from the sag and speed of pinch roll. Depending on this value, the speed instruction value 95 for the pinch roll 4 is converted to the instruction value of leading speed of about one-third of the conventional value, and then, the coiling is carried out.
