Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce the beam narrow in the width for horizontal and vertical surfaces, by providing audio lens with the ultrasonic wave transmission and reception unit array of circular arrangement type. CONSTITUTION:The circular arrangement type ultrasonic wave transmission and reception unit is constituted with the oscillators 6-1-60-N, stem 7, audio lens 8, signal line 9, and water tight mold 10. Further, the cross section of audio lens 8 vertically is concave and the cross section in horizontal surface is of ring shape. The lens 8 can collect the ultrasonic beam when the sound speed in the material is faster than that in ultrasonic wave media. Accordingly, by selecting the curvature R of the lens 8, the narrow beam a2 toward vertical direction of the surface S2 can be obtained. On the other hand, since narrow beam horizontally can be obtained with electron focus method, narrow width beam can be produced both for the horizontal and vertical surfaces. Further, convex lens can be used by selecting the material.
