Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable the operation of a valve independently of the ambient temperature, by providing two equal bimetal plates in parallel with each other so that the large expansion side of one bimetal plate faces the small expansion side of the other bimetal plate and by providing a spring for applying a force to the valve in a direction to close it.
CONSTITUTION: Equal bimetal plates 4, 5 are provided at an upper and a lower levels in parallel with each other in an enclosed casing 2 so that the large expansion side (a) of the bimetal plate 4 faces the small expansion side (b) of the other bimetal plate 5. When the bimetal plate 4 is heated by a heating wire 3, the plate curves convexly downward by a quantity corresponding to that of heat transferred to the plate and a gap (r) takes place between the plate 4 and rigid members 6. At that time, the bimetal plate 5 is moved up together with a valve 10 by the elastic force of a spring 9 until the gap (r) is eliminated. Therefore, the valve 10 is separated from a valve seat 12 by a lift (r). The curved quantities of both the bimetal plates are equal to each other even if the ambient temperature rises. Since the valve is actuated by a predetermined electric signal independently of the ambient temperature, the valve can be easily controlled.
