Abstract
PURPOSE: To produce the polarization phase difference plate inexpensively and large voluminously by superposing and affixing together a transparent uniaxially oriented film whose orientation direction is the same as the lengthwise direction and a transparent uniaxially oriented film of a different orientation direction in such a manner that the lengthwise directions align.
CONSTITUTION: In a known tube extruder 1, a cutter 8 is disposed in the direction at the specified angle (e.g., 45°) to the lengthwise direction (i.e., the axial direction of a tubular film) of a guide 9 and the film is taken up to the take-up roll 10 installed at the specified angle to the lengthwise direction of the guide 9, whereby the long-length uniaxially oriented film 11 which is oriented at the specified angle to the lengthwise direction of the film is formed. Next, the above-mentioned uniaxially oriented film 11 having been oriented at the specified angle to the lengthwise direction and the uniaxially oriented film 12 having been oriented in the lengthwise direction are opposed while adhesive agent is being supplied between both from a feeder 13 and are then pressure-contacted by rollers, whereby the long-length polarization phase difference film is continuously produced.
