Abstract

PURPOSE: To drive linear motor train by overlapping a part of a feeder section by the use of switches without building a lot of expensive substations.
CONSTITUTION: When a preceding train 5B approaches a station 6 a command is inputted from a controlling device 8 so that a switch 7A takes a closing position and a switch 7B takes an opening position. Therefore, the train 5B receives a feeder from a substation 1A. When the last end of the train 5B passes a feeder section 9B a switch 7A is opened, a swtich 7B is closed, the train 5B is fed from a substation 1B and the following train 5A can approach a feeder section 9B. When the preceding train 5B passes a feeder section 9C the switch 7A is colsed, the switch 7B is opened. The following train 5A is going to stop at the feeder section 9B but since the feeder section of 9B-9C is connected with a substation 1A, the train can move as far as the feeder section 9C and stop at a station 6 without applying unnecessary brakes.
