Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform correction of bending of members at the surface hardening of members and shorten working time by mounting an electromagnetic to the supporting jig of the members. CONSTITUTION:In the surface hardening apparatus of hardening shafts, discs, slewing rings, etc., a transformer 9 is moved to approach a cooler 2 and inductor 3 to the hardening portion of the member 8 fixed to a machine frame 7. The cooler 2 and inductor 3 are turned ON and at the same time the electromagnet 5 fixed by having a suitable spacing from the member 8 to the machine frame 7 is turned ON by an outside power source. As the machine frame 7 and member 8 rotates, the member 8 is surface hardened. When it comes to the position opposing to the electromagnet 5, the stress produced by the surface hardening is removed and bending is thereby corrected.
