Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare an adhesive composition having excellent kneadability and stability, and containing little unreacted residual isocyanates, by reacting a specific liquid conjugated diene polymer with a polyol and a polyisocyanate, and aging the reaction product.
CONSTITUTION: An adhesive composition is prepared by (1) mixing (A) 100 parts by weight of a liquid conjugated diene polymer having an average molecular weight of 400W3000 and a viscosity of 200W20000 cps, e.g. polybutadiene, polychloroprene or polyisoprene, (B) 5W90 parts of a polyol selected from polyester polyol, and polyether polyol, (C) 6W30 parts of a polyisocyanate such as 4, 4'-diphenylmethane diisocyanate and tolylene diisocyanate, and (D) a polymerization catalyst such as dibutyltin laurate and stannous octoate, (2) reacting the mixture for several minutes at 60W140°C to effect the chain extention, and (3) aging the polymer thus prepared at 20W60°C for 1W24 hours.
