Abstract

PURPOSE: An organopolysiloxane composition capable of giving cured articles having improved heat resistance, electrical insulating properties, softness, and flame retardancy, comprising a vinyl group-containing organopolysiloxane, an organosilicon compound, a silica filler, a zinc compound, and a cerium salt of a fatty acid, and platinum.
CONSTITUTION: A composition comprising (A) 100 parts by wt. of a vinyl group- containing organopolysiloxane having two or more vinyl groups directly linked to the silicon atom in one molecule on the average, (B) an organosilicon compound in an amount to give 0.5W50 moles per mole of the total vinyl groups of (A) of Si-H bonds, (C) 10W100 parts by wt. of a silica filler, (D) 0.5W50 parts by wt. of zinc carbonate and/or hydroxycarbonate, (E) 0.01W10 parts by wt. calculated as cerium of a cerium salt of a 6W12C fatty acid, and (F) a catalytic amount of platinum or its compound.
