Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable toner images to be pressure-fixed evenly to papers of different width sizes as well by setting the pressure between rollers on one side reference line side larger than the pressure on the opposite side.
CONSTITUTION: The pressure being exerted between the rollers 1, 2 on the reference line L side is set larger than the pressure being exerted between rollers on the opposite side by regulating the compression amounts of springs 8, 8'. Hence, the pressure distributions between the rollers 1, 2 are made such that they decrease gradually from the reference line L side to the opposite side with respect to the lengthwise direction of the rollers. If the paper having been deposited with toner images is fed between such rollers with its side end part being aligned to the reference line L, then adequate pressure is applied over the entire width of the paper of any width sizes. As a result, the toner images may be evenly pressure-fixed to the entire width of the paper.
