Abstract

PURPOSE:To form a screen printing plate excelling in resolution, avoiding polymerization impedance, halation, etc., by providing a polyvinyl alcohol composition layer containing ultaviolet ray absorbent on the opposite side of exposure, and then exposing ultraviolet ray. CONSTITUTION:A polyvinyl alcohol composition is used, which is prepared by mixing polyvinyl alcohol of which degree of polymerization is about 500-2000 and degree of saponification is about more than 80% (if copolymer is used, the content of vinyl alcohol unit should be more than about 60mol%) and ultraviolet ray absorber (absorbing wavelengths from 300-400mmu, being soluble in the solvent used) by about 0.05-5wt% of the weight part of the whole composition. That is, on the screen cloth extended within the plate frame, ultraviolet ray polymerization type photosensitive resin layer is provided, and said composition is spread and dried on the opposite side of exposing by contacting the positive film. Then, a screen printing plate is made according to the conventional methods of exposure and development.
