Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a general-purpose optical semiconductor coupler by screwing a holder with a lens to the inside of a holder, to one end of which an optical semiconductor is attached, and to the other end of which a receptacle with optical fiber is engaged.
CONSTITUTION: A receptacle 1 is screwed to an optical fiber chuck 2. A lens 7 is attached to a holder with an adjusting screw 13, and screwed into a holder 17. The relationship between an optical-fiber-tip contact wall 3 and the lens 3 is finely adjustable, and the difference between the fiber-core diameter and N.A cab be absorbed. A ring screw 15 is screwed into the holder 17 by a screw 16. Since the movement of a package 8 of an optical semiconductor element 9 can be absorbed, the installation of the package 8 to the holder 17 is easy. The optical semiconductors with this constitution can be standardized without regard to the types of the fiber, and the manufacturing processes can be greatly reduced.
