Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve electromagnetic conversion characteristics, by using γ-Fe2O3 power or iron oxide magnetic powder partially reduced as magnetic powder, and by treating the powder at temperatures not more than 50°C by employing dispersed liquid containing cobalt salt, ferrous salt and alkali.
CONSTITUTION: A fixed quantity of acicualr γ-Fe2O3 powder, which mean grain size is approximate 0.3μm, which axial ratio is approximate 10, which coercive force 330 oersted and which saturated magnetism is 74emu/g, is dispersed in water, and a water solution in which cobalt sulfate and ferrous sulfate, which are prepared in fixed mol, are dissolved is added to the water. A water solution in which NaOH not less than equivalent to the total amount of cobalt salt and ferrous salt is dissolved is added to the water solution, and agitated for several hours while holding it at room temperature. The dispersed liquid is filtered, and magnetic powder is extracted, sufficiently washed with water and dried at 130°C. Thus, a dispersed condition is bettered, and characteristics are improved as seen in 550 oersted coercive force and 755emu/g saturated magnetism.
