Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the compact and inexpensive plural beam simultaneous scanner by connecting the incident parts of a plurality of optical fibers to the beam exit parts and fixing the respective exit parts of the fibers by maintaining a spacing of an equal angle.
CONSTITUTION: The portions of optical fibers 7, 8, 9 secured to a supporting member 6 are radially arrayed and the beams LB4, LB5, LB6 being emitted therefrom subsequently advance divergently in such a manner that the respectively adjoining beams assume an angle Δθ with each other. There is a rotary polyhedral mirror 12 between divergent face M1-M1 and photosensitive recording medium 11. Along with the movement of the mirror face 12a, the beams are continuously reflected and focus at a desired pitch on the recording medium 11 by way of an optical system L2, whereby they are scanned on the recording medium and in the direction of passing through the paper plane. Such constitution enables the compact and inexpensive plural beam simultaneous scanner to be obtained.
