Abstract
PURPOSE:To accelerate the print speed, by dividing a light beam into plural light beams and scanning these plural light beams simultaneously. CONSTITUTION:The light beam from a laser beam source 1 is divided into four by four half mirrors A1-A4, and respective light beams are reflected at the same reflection angle. Respective beams are modulated independently of one another by modulators B1-B4 and are reflected at reflection angles slightly different from one another by folding half mirrors C1-C4. Angles of inclination of respective half mirrors C1-C4 are so set that the intersection of light paths of all light beams reflected by half mirrors C1-C4 coincides with the incident point of the light beam on the half mirror C1. Respective light beams are reflected simultaneously approximately by a polygon mirror 2 and are incident onto a photosensitive drum 3. Respective light beams a1-a4 are incident at such intervals that their spots are arranged continuously in parallel with the moving direction of the drum surface.
