Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable efficient transfer of articles such as pottery by inserting buffer members formed with air holes between stacked articles, holding the article by sucking it with a suction disc through the buffer member, and transfering the article.
CONSTITUTION: When the invention is applied to an auromatic grinder for bottom rim of pottery, the work is started by mounting a stack of dishes C on a stand 19 at a starting station I, a buffer member D formed with many air holes Da being inserted between each adjacent pair of the dishes C. Next, a vacuum pump is operated to generate a negative pressure inside each suction disc 9, a lift cylinder 2 is retreated to lower the suction disc 9, and the top disc C is sucked by the suction disc 9 through the buffer member D. With the suction disc 9 rotated by 90° about a vertical shaft 5, the bottom rim Ca of the sucked dish C is polished at a polishing station. Then, after treated at a finishing station III, the dish C is stacked alternately with the buffer member D at an ending station.
