Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare the title agent having excellent peeling resistance, alkali resistance, water resistance, etc., by adding colloidal silica and a coordination compound of Ti or Zr, to a water-soluble or water-dispersible acrylic copolymer.
CONSTITUTION: A surface-treating agent for porous inorganic building material, composed of (A) 100 parts by weight of a water-soluble or water-dispersible acrylic copolymer having an acid value of 80W100, a hydroxyl value of 40W100, and a molecular weight of 10,000W80,000 measured by gel-permeation chromatography, and obtained by the copolymerization of (a) (meth)acrylic acid, (b) a 1W12C alkyl ester of (meth)acrylic acid, and optionally (c) ≤50wt% of other polymerizable vinyl monomer, (B) 10W250 parts of colloidal silica, and (c) 1W10 parts of a Ti or Zr coordination compound.
