Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable plate width to be controlled at desired values without fluctuating product plate thicknesses, rolling currents and volume speeds by simultaneously adjusting passes, roll speeds and inter-stand tension in the finish rolling mill groups of continuous hot rolling equipment of steel plates based on the specific relations.
CONSTITUTION: The passes (mm) at respective stands of the hot rolling equipment having plural units of stand, roll speeds (r.p.m.) of respective stands and tension (kg/mm2)among adjoining stands are simultaneously changed and adjusted based on the formula [ΔSi is the pass change quantity (mm) at the (i)th stand from the rolling material inlet, ΔNi is the change quantity (r.p.m.) of the roll speed per unit time of the (i)th roll, Δθi is the tension change quantity (kg/mm2) between the (i)th stand and (i+1)th stand, bj is the coefficient determined by the material information of steel types, etc. of rolling materials and the reduction schedules of each stand, etc.), whereby the plate width ΔbF(mm) at the outlet is determined.
