Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a good quality fertilizer by facilitating compost preparation, sewage sludge or raw sewage sludge is treated by wet type oxidation and followed by dehydration.
CONSTITUTION: Sludge to be treated and compressed air from the compressor 3 enter the first heat exchanger 1 to exchange heat with high temperature oxidation liquid from the reaction tower 7 through the second heat exchanger 6. The sludge is heated to a given temperature of 135W250°C and enters the reaction tower 7. The sludge is treated in the reaction tower at a reaction pressure of 7W20kg/cm2 and wet-oxidized to a degree of 35W50% of loss on ignition. The treated sludge enters the gas-liquid separator 9 through the heat exchangers 6, 4 and the pressure control valve and separated from reaction gas. The liquid component enter the liquid-solid separation tank 11 where supernatant and slurry are separated. The slurry is dehydrated by the dehydrator to water content of 35W60%. The produced dehydrated sludge 13 is fermented by bacteria and made to compost. The formed fertilizer contains much of phosphorus, nitrogen and potassium.
