Abstract
PURPOSE: Water soluble polybalent metal compound is added to an aqueous phase having acidic phosphate ester that contains no polybalent metal compound, thereby depositing solid containing acidic phosphate ester to provide an easy and effective removal means.
CONSTITUTION: To acidic phosphate ester such as di(2-ethylhexyl) hydroyen phosphate in aqueous phase of water to be treated, water soluble polybalent metal compound such as calcium hydroxide is added in an amount of 1/2 equivalent or more, and, if required, alkali is added, and then stirred. This keeps the value of pH at a high value to precipitate white lump containing acidic phosphate ester as well as calcium hydroxide. The precipitates are removed by filtering to provide treated water having a drastically reduced content of acidic phosphate ester, thereby decreasing the load of water treatment.
