Abstract
PURPOSE: To make efficient the welding work, to improve the quality of weld, and to greatly shorten the number of days for welding work, by rotating the iron or steel pipe in the duct being equipped with the saw, and by holding the welder installed in this iron or steel pipe at the flat position, and by welding the circumferential joint of this iron or steel pipe.
CONSTITUTION: The thrust bearing 14 is protruded into the duct 11; and plural iron or steel pipes 16..., to which the joint B is previously welded at the temporary assembly shop, being laid on the individual truck 18..., are successively transported and are piled up on the bearing 14. Then, at the position of the circumferential joint A of the respective pipe 16..., the automatic welder 19 is respectively arranged. Hereupon, the welder 19 travels, for instance on the rack type rail 16a installed in the inner surface of the pipe 16, and also, the welder 19 keeps always constant flat position against the rotation of the pipe 16. After the bearing 14 is restored into the positioner 13, the welded pipe 16 is transported by the truck 18 to the previously laid iron or steel pipe 17, and then, the circumferential joint C is welded.
