Abstract

PURPOSE: To make high-speed transfer possible even for a small number of transfer digits of the receiving-side processing part by making it possible to divide and store one-time transfer data in separated storage areas in the receiving-side storage part.
CONSTITUTION: In DMA mechanism 28, the number of transfer digits is set to counter 37 from processor 14. Counter 37 is counted down each time one digit is transferred to storage part 18; and when counter 37 becomes 0, it is detected by detector circuit 38. At this time, when the number of transfer digits is not a designated value in transmission-side DMA mechanism 27, this information is reported to processor 14 through signal line 36. Simultaneously, the output of detector circuit 38 is supplied to DMA control signal line 32, and DMA mechanism 27 interrupts the transfer operation. Processor 14 designates again the transfer start address, the number of transfer digits and transfer start by report from signal line 36. Then, interrupt is released to start data transfer again.
