Abstract
PURPOSE: To purify waste liquid at high efficiency, by treating the waste liquid containing oily matter and metal fine particles with adsorbent made of lipophilic fibers and porous hollow film.
CONSTITUTION: Contaminated waste liquid containing particles of Fe, Al, etc., and oily matter such as rolling oil and cutting oil is supplied in an adsorbent tank 3 through a pipe 2. The adsorbent tank 3 is filled with a bulky adsorbent 4 made of lipophilic fibers, such as polyethylene and polypropyrene. When the waste liquid passes through this adsorbent 4, the contained coarse particles are filtered, and oily matter is adsorbed and removed. part of this filtered water may be returned to a crude waste liquid tank 1. Majority of filtered water is sent into a hollow film device 6, and is cuased to contact under pressure with the outer surface of a porous hollow film 7 possessing effective pores of 0.4μ or less being made of material of polyvinyl alcohol, polyacrylonitrile, etc., and fine particles are removed while passing through the pores, so that purified water may be recovered.
