Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable an inner tank containing a superconductive magnet to be supported in a highly reliable manner, by effectively utilizing a strenghthened plastic material featuring an extremely small thermal conductivity and high strength. CONSTITUTION:A supporting seat 3a, which is provided in an inner tank 3, is caught between low-temperature supporting cylinders 15 and futher caught between a flange of an intermediate supporting cylinder 16 and a high-temperature-insulation-supporting cylinder 17, and the both ends are tightened up by a tightening cylinder 19 and a flange 18. The supporting cylinders 15 and 17 are make of fibrous material reinforced by glass carbon, etc. and others are composed of metallic material. The flange 18 and a flange 19a on the other end of a tightening rod are fixed on an outer tank 4, and these are to conduct force from the inner tank 3 to the outer tank 4. Respective one ends of intermediate heat-sheltering cylinders 14a and 14b are joined to the intermediate supporing cylinder 16 and other ends are joined to a heat-sheltering plate 8. In this mechanism, only simple compressive force acts on the reinforced plastic member, and therefore, the high strength can be fully utilized for improvement of reliability. And since its thermal conductivity is low, heat invasion can be remarkably reduced (or minimized) as compared with a metallic pipe.
