Abstract

PURPOSE: To stop copying operation to cut off light source and prevent the occurrence of accident by immediately detecting the lighting of the light source when it does other than in exposure process and at the time when afterglow or the like exists and operating a safety device.
CONSTITUTION: Even if power supply to a light source 1 is cut off upon ending of exposure process, there is afterglow for a fixed time and the signal 1 of a high level is inputted to an input port P1 for a slight time but during this time the light source bit is set in the register in a CPU 4 and this is regarded normal. After this, the light source bit is reset. Thereupon, when the light source 1 continues to light even after ending of the exposure process, the CPU 4 immediately strobes the output port P2 and causes the transistor 7 of a safety device 4 to go ON, by which the power supply to the light source 1 is cut off. Even when the light source 1 lights other than in the fixed time after ending of the exposure process, the CPU 4 causes the safety device 4 to operate, thereby enabling the power supply to the light source 1 to be cut off.
