Abstract

PURPOSE:To carry out the analysis for the sample by supplying the output of the thermal flowmeter type detection element to the synchroscope and thus securing the observation for the waveform and its change of the output between the pulse beams which are irradiated intermittently toward the sample. CONSTITUTION:The sample is analyzed by making use of the photoacoustic effect in the following method. Sample room 15 and reference room 16 which are filled with the gas are linked to each other via gas path 17, and at the same time thermal flowmeter type detection element 20 is incorporated onto path 17. Then the pulse beam featuring a fixed frequency is irradiated through light transmission window 18 to sample 14 in room 15 to cause the flow of the gas within path 17. The gas flow is detected by detection element 20, and this output is supplied to the synchroscope. Thus the waveform and its change of the output between the pulse beams are observed through the synchroscope.
