Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent damage of the pass roll and get rid of decline of the rate of operation, by deriving from the action moment the stress which is generated in the pass roll, and controlling depending upon whether or not the product of the foregoing and the coefficient of notch of the roll is smaller than the fatigue strength of the roll.
