Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:A 7-dithienylmethylene-indolizidine of formula I, its acid addition salt, or quaternary ammonium salt of formula II.
USE: Antispasmodics and antitumor agents having anti-histamine and strong antiacetylcholine actions, particularly quaternary ammonium salts having a strong antiacetylcholine actions.
PROCESS: An indolizidine-7-carboxylic ethyl ester of formula II is reacted with a metallic compound to give novel α,α-dithienylindolizidine-7-methanol of formula IV, which is dehydrated to give the compound of formula I.
