CONSTITUTION:A rotor 1 rotated by an external drive source is made to abut against an armature 7 by the excitation of an excitation coil 11. The armature 7 and a stop plate 8 are insulated from the exterior by a pulley 12 fitted on the side face of the rotor 1 and a rubber shielder 14 made of a sound-insulating material and fitted on the inner peripheral portion of the pulley 12. Thus, the sound generated on the contact between the friction surface 1a of the rotor 1 and the armature 7 or the sound transmitted from a driven device to the stop plate 8 is attenuated by the rubber shielder 14.
