Abstract
PURPOSE: To greatly increase the receiving power factor to reduce the power procurement cost by computing the power factor of the maximum reactive-current values which can be produced by a generator and by regulating the power factor of the generator output to the computed power factor.
CONSTITUTION: The power factor is obtained based on the data from a transformer 3 and a current transformer 4 by a power-factor sensor 5. The actual power-factor values (measured data) cosθ0 of the output of a generator are supplied to a comparator 9. The comprator 9 obtains the difference between the input data cosθ1 and cosθ0, and send the difference signal to the power-factor regulator 10, which comprises an automatic voltage regulator, a phase-control circuit, and the like. The power-factor regulator 10 increases or decreases the field current that is supplied from a field power supply 1 to a field coil Gc of a generator G by regulating the triggering angle of each SCR of an SCR device 2 so that the difference signal, i.e. cosθ1∼cosθ0 or θ1∼Q0 becomes zero. In this constitution, the power factor of the power-receiving system is greatly increased, and the cost for procuring electric power can be reduced.
