Abstract

PURPOSE: To transfer a coil and a core to a coil end processing stage without deforming the end of the coil and enable the complete automation of manufacture of a stator, by inserting a coil drop-off prevention wedge in between stator slots after coiling by a series winder.
CONSTITUTION: After a wire is coiled in the stator slots 5 of a stator core 1 by a series winder, coil drop-off prevention wedges 7 are automatically inserted in between the adjacent stator slots 5. The coiled wire and the core are then transferred to a coil end processing stage wherein sleeves are fitted on the ends of the coiled wire, the ends are bound with threads, lead wires are connected to the ends of the coiled wire or other similar work is performed. Since the coiled wire 4 is prevented by the wedges 7 from dropping off due to vibration during the conveyance of the coiled wire, its ends 6 are not deformed and the coiled wire can be transferred to the end processing stage as the ends of the wire extend straight in a prescribed direction. Therefore, the complete automation of manufacture of a stator is facilitated.
