Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the temperature to 150W800°C through simple precedures in a very short time, by mixing Mg, Al, Zn or Sn powder with chloride powder of a metal having a weaker ionization tendency than said metals.
CONSTITUTION: A pyrogen comprising (A) metal powder selected from Mg, Al, Zn, and Sn powder, preferably Mg, Al, or Zn, and (B) chloride powder of a metal having a weaker ionization tendency than (A), preferably FeCl3 or CuCl2, capable of preducing heat upon mixing (A) with (B) instantaneously. The pyrogen permits the ignition of a fumigant comprising a self-burning drug. A combination of Zn and CuCl2 powders is most preferred.
