EXAMPLE: 7-pyrrolidinyl-spiro- [ 2H-1-benzopyran-2,3'- (3H) -naphtho (2,1-b) -pyran ] of formula IV.
USE: A coloring matter precursor for heat-sensitive recording, etc. (The coated surface of a recording chart is little colored and the recorded image is clean; furthermore, the color-developed coloring matter being hightly resistant to light, heat, and water.).
