Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a material for protecting the edge portion of quay-wall, which is capable of effectively absorbing impact force acted when the ship body comes into contact with the upper corner of the quay-wall.
CONSTITUTION: Means for protecting the edge portion of quay-wall of this invention is made of a resilient material like rubber which is formed to have a substantially L-shaped cross section. In surface 1' of each leg portion 1, there is formed a longitudinal groove 2, and holes 4 for passing anchor bolt 3 therethrough are formed along the groove 2 with suitable intervals from each other. By use of such protective means A for protecting the edge portion of quay-wall B as arranged above, it is enabled to minimize shock caused in bringing the ship alongside the quay.
