Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable distinct printing to be accomplished by controlling latent image forming means or feed means in correspondence to the peripheral speeds of a rotary drum in the non-impact printer provided with the rotary drum, latent image forming means, developing means, transfer means, feed means of transfer media, etc.

CONSTITUTION: In the non-impact printer which prints out pattern character information at a high speed from an electronic computer, etc., the laser beam from an oscillator 1 is modulated by recording pattern signals in a modulator 3 and latent images are formed on a recording drum 8 by a rotary mirror 5. The latent images are turned to sensible images by a developing device 8 and the sensible images are transferred onto plain paper 13 by a transfer device 10. The paper is then sent to a fixing part 12 by a paper feed tractor 11, where it is made to a hard copy. A speed detector 32 is disposed near the radiation surface of the laser beam 7 on the recording drum 8 and a speed detector 33 near the transfer part. The surface speed of the latent image forming surface of the recording drum 8 is detected with the detector 32 and the rotation of the rotary mirror 5 is controlled so as the surface speed of the transfer surface and the tractor 11 is controlled so as to conform to that speed, whereby the printing paper speed is matched to the surface speed.
