Abstract
PURPOSE: To remove the water content in air fed in a multi-stage air compressor and improve the rust-proof effect of the high pressure mechanism, by filling an intermediate tank with a highly water absorbing material.
CONSTITUTION: Compressed air fed from a low compression mechanism gets in contact with a pipe wall relatively low at about 40°C, when it passes through an intermediate piping 7 to an intermediate tank 20 between two compression mechanisms of high and low under the condition of about 140W180°C at the center of the pipe. The water content in the air forms dewdrops W and tends to flow toward the high compression mechanism. Since the tank 20 is filled with a water absorbing agent 23 such a special soil, the dewdrops W are removed by the absorber 23. The removal of water content in compressed air can improve the rust-proof effect of the air compressor.
