Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide such flow meter that accurately indicates required gas flow rate at any depth of water by the use of a pointer which can indicate total flow rate through first and second branch passages.
CONSTITUTION: Gas flow path 1 is branched to first branch passage 2A and second branch passage 2B. Fixed orifice 3A is located at an opening of the first branch passage 2A, and a needle valve 3B is located on the way of the second branch passage 2B. Gas flowing through first passage 2A is ejected from orifice 3A against flat plate 7 attached to pointer 6 which is located within measuring compartment 4. A scale plate graduated with flow rate indicia at the 0 meter depth of water is disposed on the periphery opposite to the turning range of pointer 6, so that pointer can indicate total flow rate through first and second branch passages. Namely, if the ratio of area of needle valve 3B with respect to area of orifice 3A is a, identical position of pointer 6 will indicate a value of (1+a) times in comparison with that in the conventional case. Adjusting knob of needle valve 3B is provided with indicator section which has base point corresponding to opening area of needle valve 3B at which point the pointer 6 indicates predetermined flow rate value at the 0 meter depth of water.
