Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a toner composition superior in durability and capable of forming a plurality of copies of high density and free from any fog on the background, by adding a colorant and a binder resin containing a specified polyester resin.
CONSTITUTION: A toner composition comprises a binder resin (A) 77 to 99wt.pts. containing polyester resin (a) 60wt.pts. or more having a dibasic acid component of 60mol% or more terephthalic acid and a glycol component of 60mol% or more 2,2-dimethyl-1,3-propanediole, an acid value of 3W13mg.KOH/g, preferably 5W11 mg.KOH/g, a softening point, by the ring and ball method, of about 55W160, and a number average polymerization degree of 2000W12000, and a colorant (B) 1W25 wt.pts., such as carbon black, pigment or dye. The above toner composition is incorporated with carrier particles in a weight about 25W250 times its weight for use in development of an electrophotographic latent image.
