Abstract

PURPOSE: To make a blower of low cost and high strength and accuracy from a synthetic resin, by improving the form of an insert boss of metal to reduce the expensive material of the boss.
CONSTITUTION: An aluminium material or the like is extruded, thereby preparing a workpiece 11 comprising curved peripheral parts 7 separated from one another, flat parts 9 adjacent to the sides 8 of the curved parts 7 and fitting grooves 10. The workpiece 11 is cut off to a prescribed length l1. A tapped hole 12 for securing a rotary shaft is made in the workpiece. The curved peripheral parts 7, a rotary shaft hole 13 and a drop-off prevention groove 14 are cut. The insert boss 6 of metal is manufactured. The boss 6 is fitted in a lower metal mold 15. An upper metal mold is set on the lower one. The synthetic resin is injected into the cavity between the molds through an injection hole so that a round compound boss is produced. The curved peripheral parts 7 and resin parts 20 are located on an identical cylindrical surface.
