Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent rain water from entering inside a vehicle window, by using in the bottom corner of the frame an L-shaped guide separator composed of a leg covering the windowsill together with airtight members and a hollow ascending unit along the ascending part inside the window frame.
CONSTITUTION: An L-shaped guide separator 9 is composed of a U-shaped leg 14 used for covering a windowsill 10 for an internal window pane 8 and a hollow, stack-like ascending unit 15 covering the bottom corner and inner ascending part of a window frame 2. Since an external airtight member 12 and internal airtight member 13 exclude water on the surface, rain water never comes in from drain holes 4, 4 as seen in a conventional construction. Rain water reaching the internal windowsill 10 tends to enter inside, being accompanied by an air flow generated in the separator 9, but is removed as rain drops because of the internal resistance of the ascending unit 15 and the dead weight of water. Accordingly the air flow in the direction d is deprived of rain water.
